2Zero maintenance
Good: We liked the Garden 1897 Restaurant just across the street. It somehow helped us to ease the frustrating experience we made at Ayasofiya Hotel. Plus: The receptionist was quite helpful.
Bad: The hotel has seen better times. No investments whatsoever are made to keep the property in the good condition it once had. Curtains fall down, wall sockets arent fixed any more, the shower did not work properly. And its very noisy. Pictures on booking.com do not correspond to the reality at all.

8Great location , needs some real upgrade to make it a place to recommend
Good: The location was perfect to visit all the main cultural attractions n close to restaurants shopping etc. Also the hotel is in a quiet street which is a real bonus. The breakfast was always good if same same every day.
Bad: The hotel room we occupied needs major upgrading. Poor electrical plugs location , windows with peeling paint n hard to open poor air con etc. Fridge in poor working order. Also rooms were not regularly cleaned

7At the end all ok. The owner saying... if client are happy I am too!
Good: The location ( I was surprised because I went 3 times to Ayasofia Hotel in last 20y and did not realize that the house/location/owner changed. Only the outside general look was same). I had book a family room as travelling with my grand daughter (2 separate beds). First room ok though bathroom did not look like "one year old";) no where to put a toothbrush, paper toilet on the floor... but well, hot water was ok! Your application for taxi (booking.com) worked very well and was trustworthy. The terrace on the roof top offers nice view and shady environment.
Bad: Second day the owner asked us to change room as.... he pretented that our room was booked! He put us in the "same" at ground floor. Unclean, untidy, windows directly on the street impossible to open and Airco dripping and noisy. Bathroom in same shaby state as first one. The next morning we asked/demanded to change and went back to our first room. Where we spent the rest of the time (the hotel was definitely not full....3-4 rooms max). Breakfast is "only" turkish (olives, tomatoes, etc...), no fruit at all, and noisy tv. We had it twice then decided to go elsewhere though having paid for it. No help at all for booking or finding restaurant/taxi/activities etc... as previous owner used to. The owner's english is very limited and the lady in breakfast room does not speak one single word.
